Mount Tamalpais Watershed:
A week-long rite of passage for 7th Grade students. This summit-to-sea experience integrated mindfulness practices in nature with team building, art, games, environmental education and outdoor leadership skills development. We descended from the East Peak of Mount Tamalpais through Muir Woods to grassy bluffs overlooking the pacific coast.
Joshua Tree National Park:
This six day trip to Joshua Tree National Park for 5th Grade students has become an annual pilgrimage for New Village School. We explore the park's geologic phenomenon and clear night skies, culminating in a professionally guided rock climbing adventure! This car-camping road trip continually supports students' growth and transition into early adolescence.
Tahoe National Forest
On this backpacking trip for teens from the Bolinas-Stinson Young Stewards of the Land Program, students swam in clear mountain lakes, gained essential backpacking skills, and reflected on their lives together. Our Guides engaged group members in nature connection and mindfulness practices that fostered reverence and gratitude for Earth.
